Written by the team that makes WLog · Last updated · Competitor facts checked September 26, 2026

What does WLog do better than Strong, Hevy, Fitbod and JEFIT?

  • No caps on the free plan. Unlimited workouts, routines and custom exercises. Strong's free plan allows 3 routines; Hevy's allows 4 routines and 7 custom exercises; Fitbod has no free plan.
  • The weight goes up for you, free. Give each exercise an increment, for example +5 lb on squats. When every set hits its target reps, WLog raises the weight for next session; after three failed sessions in a row, it takes 10% off that lift. Hevy, Fitbod and JEFIT charge for their progression features, and we could not find one in Strong. How it works.
  • A free Apple Watch app. Start a workout, log sets, run the rest timer and see heart rate from your wrist. JEFIT lists its watch app under Elite.
  • Programs from a photo or PDF. Snap a printed plan or drop in a screenshot, PDF or text and WLog drafts the routine (saving needs PRO). We could not find this in the other four apps. How AI import works.
  • 1,158 exercises with 1,067 demo videos bundled in the app, so they play offline.
  • No ads, no account, 36 languages. Start logging the moment you open the app.

Frequently asked questions

Which workout tracker has the best free plan?

WLog's free plan has no limit on routines or custom exercises and includes automatic weight progression, deloads and the Apple Watch app, with no ads. Hevy's free plan caps routines at 4 and custom exercises at 7, Strong's caps routines at 3, and Fitbod has no free plan.

Which workout app increases the weight automatically?

WLog does it on the free plan: set an increment per exercise and the weight goes up after you hit your reps, with automatic deloads when a lift stalls. Fitbod generates each workout with AI (paid), Hevy Trainer gives suggestions on Hevy Pro, and JEFIT has AI load progression on Elite. We could not find automatic progression on Strong's App Store page or help center.

Can I move my workout history from Strong or Hevy to WLog?

Your routines, yes: rebuild them for free, or paste them as text or a screenshot into AI import (saving requires PRO). Past workout history does not transfer, because WLog has no CSV import.

Which of these apps has a free Apple Watch app?

WLog and Hevy both have free Apple Watch apps; WLog's runs with your iPhone nearby. Strong's watch app logs with or without the iPhone. Fitbod needs the iPhone to start and save a workout, and JEFIT lists its watch app under Elite.

Are these prices the same in every country?

No. The table shows US list prices from each app's App Store page or help center on September 26, 2026. Prices differ by country, and stores may show offers or older plans to some users.
